Since its inception in 2018, Zicali has been advancing the future of utilities and cities by developing sustainable technologies that integrate smart grids and distributed energy resources (DER).
Zicali leads the way in Transmission and Distribution Engineering for grid modernization and fire-hardening initiatives, while serving as recognized experts in Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems across electric, water, and gas networks.
Our forward-thinking design group is also pioneering behind-the-meter DER solutions and visionary Smart City applications — from automated ordinance monitoring and facility safety to climate-control efficiencies and smart parking innovations.
Zicali’s leadership and workforce have a proven track record supporting projects with San Diego Gas & Electric, FirstEnergy, Portland General Electric, City of Palo Alto Utilities, City of Oceanside, and Riverside Public Utilities.

MUKESH SHAH
Founder & CEO
Mukesh has over thirty years of experience managing enterprises and delivering complex projects utilizing extensive experience of business operations. His results-oriented work ethic provides customer-focused innovations, strategic solutions, and program management, particularly in the industries of utilities, Internet of Things, and telecommunications. He specializes in business process analysis and project management for the implementation of state-of-the-art technologies and advanced business processes.
Mr. Shah utilizes his wide-ranging experience with progressive means for transformative improvements to develop operational excellence and value. Mr. Shah has successfully delivered smart metering and smart city projects by focusing attention on green initiatives, customer requirements, project planning, execution, monitoring, and control.
AKSHAY M. SHAH
CFO & VP of Business Development
Akshay Shah brings a unique blend of creative and strategic acumen to his role as Chief Financial Officer and VP of Business Development of Zicali, Inc. An alumnus of Purdue University’s Daniels School of Management, Akshay’s foundation in management, accounting, and finance has fueled a career that spans two decades.
Beginning his journey working with startups and small businesses, his path landed him in the film industry, where his enthusiasm for storytelling and meticulous attention to detail led to over 12 years of successful film productions – documentaries being his favorite genre. In 2020, he embraced a new industry as he joined his father’s entrepreneurial venture, Zicali, and applied his diverse skill set to drive the startup forward.
Beyond his professional life, Akshay is a devoted family man, married with two daughters. Aside from his love for movies, Akshay enjoys riding his motorcycle, playing golf, reading books and traveling the world. Drawing inspiration from legends like Kobe Bryant, Prince, and Ayrton Senna, he embraces every challenge with passion, dedication, and a relentless drive for greatness.
